Gentlemen, I just found your new hero

July 11, 2013

Conrad Veidt

Seriously, click that picture, read the article, and then ask yourself what you’ve  done with your day.  Personally, today just started, but yesterday I sat in front of a computer and did my job, then watched some Avengers cartoons, then fiddled around on my iPhone for more  time than I care to admit, then went to the gym, then came home and laid on the couch and flipped numbly through Netflix.  What I didn’t do was serve as the inspiration for two indelible movie villains. Nor did I make a pro-gay rights film 100 years before Rick Perry donned his stupid Carhartt jacket (Carhartt jackets are not inherently stupid, only Rick Perry’s use of one to look “folksy”). Oh yeah, I also didn’t donate my fortune to defeat the Nazis.  I did write this post, though, so stick that in your cool cigarette and smoke it, Mr Veidt. I bet that old guy couldn’t even blog.

For me, finding a niche has been like trying to choose a favorite among my own children. There are so many things I love to do, but one I'm passionate about and that's writing.
